Heavyweight roots 12" pre from JA and dating from 1977, this is the extended version of "Rich Man" by Gideon Jah Rubbaal, an elusive singer who recorded mostly on his own label Jah Rubbaal.

Recently (in 2009), much of this artist's work was compiled on a cd called "Free Us Now", including this track, but it does not have the extended version which is featured on this 12" single.

As this is a Jamaican pressing, the sound quality is rather hissy, but it doesn't distract too much from the power of this tune.

The flip has a tune called "Share the Wealth".

Jah Gideon Rubbaal managed to garner the talents of the cream of the roots musicians at the time to create music of power and social relevance - see listing:
